Art Falnama India 16101630 the Prophets Moses Mary and Jesus and Muhammad
The following question was posed in relation with the references of Muhammad in Torah, the questioner said:
Muhammad (peace be upon him) is referred to in the Torah in Deuteronomy 18:18, only it says that Allah said to the people of Israel, "amongst your brethren." I know that Moses (peace be upon him) was among the Children of Israel. Merely, Abraham (peace exist upon him) had two sons, one was Ishmael (peace be upon him) and the other was Isaac (peace be upon him).
Isaac (peace exist upon him) had ii sons, Esau and Jacob, who was later called Israel. But as Moses (peace be upon him) was the descendant of Israel, this prophecy could be talking well-nigh Jesus (peace exist upon him), who could be amid the children of Israel's brethren. This is because he could be the descendant of Esau. So, if he was a descendant of Esau that would allocate him as the brethren of the children of Israel. Please could you dispel my confusion by telling me the right details.
As well in reality, Jesus (peace be upon him) is not i of the descendants of State of israel because he was born of Mary (may Allah be pleased with her), and therefore not related to Joseph, his foster equally the Bible says, which is incorrect. This is because he was born of his mother, and then could he be amidst the children of Israel so, if Mary (may Allah be pleased with her) wasn't?
Likewise please could you lot assure me that Muhammad (peace exist upon him) could not have in whatever style got his hands on the Bible. This would do wonders for my faith, please, as I am profoundly troubled by this. I volition be very grateful to you if y'all could provide me with my answers.
In response to the question, Nabil Haroun, a specialist in comparative faith and Islam & science replied:
The poesy that you mentioned states:
"I will raise them up a Prophet from amidst their brethren, similar unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall control him." (Deuteronomy 18:18)
"Among their brethren" conspicuously refers to a nation other than the Israelites; otherwise it should take been "amongst yourselves." The reference in Deuteronomy 18:eighteen could fit nobody else except Prophet Muhammad (peace exist upon him), and not Prophet Jesus, for the post-obit reasons:
Moses and Muhammad were built-in in the normal, natural course, that is, the physical marriage of man and adult female, merely Jesus was created by a special miracle.
Moses and Muhammad married and begot children, just Jesus remained a bachelor all his life.
Moses and Muhammad brought new laws and new regulations for their people, but Jesus came only to fulfill the old law of Moses.
Both Moses and Muhammad died natural deaths and were buried, but Jesus was raised to heaven.
Unlike Moses and Muhammad, who were accepted as prophets past their people in their very lifetime, Jesus was deserted fifty-fifty by his closest disciples.
Both Moses and Muhammad ruled and enacted laws besides their beingness prophets. This was not the instance with Jesus.
The only likeness between Moses and Jesus was that both belonged to the Children of State of israel, like all other Israelite prophets such every bit Solomon, David, Isaiah, Daniel, Joshua, Zechariah, John and many others.
Farther, the well-known Deuteronomy 18:18, widely accustomed every bit an unequivocal reference to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), is further clarified by the post-obit verse:
"And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will non hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require information technology of him" (Deuteronomy 18:19).
Information technology is well-known that every surah (chapter) of the Qur'an (except At-Tawbah 9) should start by: bismillah ir-rahman ir-rahim (In the proper noun of Allah the Most Gracious, the Almost Merciful). Muslims recite these words repeatedly in each of their five daily obligatory prayers, as well every bit before starting almost whatsoever activity.
You lot are correct to point out that the Gospels of Matthew and Luke were both grossly mistaken in listing a imitation lineage of Jesus to David through his mother's fiancé, Joseph the carpenter. Too, Matthew and Luke contradicted each other in terms of the chain length and individual names therein.
The virgin Mary, his mother, is the daughter of `Imran, whose lineage extends to the Prophet Aaron, who is a Levite. Levites are grandsons of Levi, ane of the twelve sons of Jacob (Israel). So, Mary, as well, is an Israelite, and Jesus has aught to exercise with Esau, the brother of Jacob. "Their brethren" could refer simply to the descendants of Ishmael.
All that is merely one example of a multitude of biblical bear witness; some references carry even more than explicit descriptions and definitions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Co-ordinate to the Bible, the coming prophet would come from Arabia:
"And he said, the Lord came from Sinai, and rose upward from Seir unto them; he shined along from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right manus went a peppery law for them." (Deuteronomy 33:2)
Mount Paran is the expanse located between the mountains of Abu-Qubays, Qi`an, and Hira' in Makkah. It is where Abraham took his wife Hagar and their kid Ishmael, as mentioned in the following:
"And Abraham rose up early in the morn, and took staff of life, and a canteen of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the kid, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba…And God was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer. And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran: and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Arab republic of egypt." (Genesis 21:fourteen, 20-21)
His universal bulletin would assemble people from all around the globe and would bring them for pilgrimage to Makkah, land of Kedar, the grandpa of the Quraysh, the tribe of Muhammad (peace exist upon him), as in the post-obit prophecy:
"For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people, but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy calorie-free, and kings to the brightness of thy rise. Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they assemble themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side. Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine eye shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee. The multitude of camels shall comprehend thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of the Lord. All the flocks of Kedar shall exist gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee: they shall come up up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory. Who are these that fly equally a deject, and as the doves to their windows?" (Isaiah lx:two-eight)
They would praise Allah, as they do annually in Mina and `Arafat, the mountain tops in the following prophecy:
"Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise from the end of the world, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.
Let the wilderness and the cities thereof elevator up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains. Let them give glory unto the Lord, and declare his praise in the islands." (Isaiah 42:x-12)
The coming prophet would be illiterate, every bit was Muhammad (peace exist upon him):
"And the volume is delivered to him that is non learned, saying, 'Read this, I pray thee' and he saith, 'I am not learned.'" (Isaiah 29:12)
This amazingly coincides with how Muhammad (peace be upon him) received the outset revelation:
"…till Truth came upon him while he was in the cave of Hira'. At that place came to him the affections and said, 'Read,' to which he replied, 'I do not know how to read.' He took hold of me (the Messenger said) and pressed me, till I was hard pressed; thereafter he let me off and said, 'Read.' I said, 'I do not know how to read.' He then again took hold of me and pressed me for the 2d time till I was hard pressed and so allow me off and said, 'Read,' to which I replied, 'I practise not know how to read.' He took hold of me and pressed me for the 3rd time, till I was hard pressed and then let me get and said: *{Read in the name of your Lord Who created, created homo from a jell of blood. Recite. And your Nearly Bountiful Lord is He Who taught the use of pen, taught man what he knew not}* And so the Prophet returned therewith, his middle was trembling…" (Narrated by Al-Bukhari.)
